Culture Night has become one of the most popular annual cultural events in the country, with venues and organisations around the country offering a variety of free events, shows, tours and more for one night every year.

This year's Culture Night - marking its 10th anniversary - is taking place between 5pm and 11pm on Friday 18th of September, with a theme of 'Revolves Around You’. 350,000 people are estimated to take part in the nighttime festivities.

Events will take place at 40 Irish locations, as well as in New York and Paris.

Elsewhere you can expect lullabies for babies in Sligo; virtual wine tasting; and the chance to attend a gay wedding in Belfast.

Luka Bloom is set to perform at Kilkishen Cultural Centre in Clare, while there will be an exhibition of textiles and craft work by Traveller women in Cavan. There will be also be a special 'Culture Crawl' on Achill Island.

You can find out more information about the hundreds of events taking place across the country on Culture Night's website.

Arts Minister Heather Humphreys said, "Culture Night brings our towns and cities alive with a buzz that is unrivalled throughout the rest of the year. It is a particular treat for families, as it enthrals children with its unique sense of adventure and magic. As the tenth year of Culture Night, the 2015 event promises to be bigger and better than ever.

"A decade on from relatively humble beginnings, it is going from strength to strength and I am very pleased to see that the level of cross border cultural collaboration is increasing again this year," she added.
