One further COVID-19 patient has died and three more cases have been confirmed.

It takes the death toll in Ireland to 1,735 and the total number of confirmed cases to 25,439.

The national total includes the denotification of one previously confirmed case.

It comes as the country prepares to enter Phase Three of reopening from tomorrow.

Around 3,000 pubs across the country are planning to reopen their door, alongside hairdressers, barbers, gyms, pools, cinemas and churches.

The country’s pubs will have been closed for 105 days by the time they begin to reopen tomorrow.

Meanwhile, the Health Minister Stephen Donnelly has refused to say whether the list of countries people can travel to without quarantining will be published in the next two weeks.

The previous government had promised to publish the ‘green list’ before July 9th, when it would come into force.

Speaking to Shane Beatty on Newstalk Breakfast this morning, Minister Donnelly said the list will be kept under constant review once it is in place.

Yesterday the Chief Medical Officer Dr Tony Holohan said the number of young people testing positive is “now a real concern and a worrying trend.”

Nearly half of the 23 cases confirmed yesterday were in people under the age of 35. Meanwhile eight were between 35 and 54.
