class="MsoNormal">The Commercial Court has refused to delay an application by Bank of Ireland to jail solicitor Brian O’Donnell and his wife Patricia.

class="MsoNormal">

class="MsoNormal">The bank is trying to enforce a €75 million judgment against the Dublin-based couple.

class="MsoNormal">

class="MsoNormal">The bank is chasing the judgment on investment property loans to the O’Donnell’s.

class="MsoNormal">

class="MsoNormal">The bank alleges the couple has fraudulently tried to put assets beyond its reach.

class="MsoNormal">

class="MsoNormal">They are currently embroiled in UK bankruptcy proceedings.

class="MsoNormal">

class="MsoNormal">A question mark still hangs over whether the O’Donnell’s own the contents of the family home on the Vico Road in Dublin or if they are in a trust for their 4 adult children  – Bruce, Blake, Blaise and Alexandra.

class="MsoNormal">

class="MsoNormal">But contempt of court proceedings also loom over the solicitor and his wife.

class="MsoNormal">

class="MsoNormal">The court today refused to set aside an application by the bank for their attachment and committal on October 2nd.

class="MsoNormal">

class="MsoNormal">Bank of Ireland says the aim of the contempt proceedings is to get the O’Donnell’s to give the court truthful answers and disclose relevant documents which they allege has not been done up until now.
