A man is due in court this afternoon in connection with a home invasion and aggravated burglary in County Louth.
Gardaí said two men entered a house in the Ferdia Park area of Ardee just after 9pm on Friday night.
They assaulted a man in his 40s who was in the house before fleeing the scene in a car with a “number of items of property.”
He was taken to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, Drogheda where his injuries are not life-threatening.
A short time later, gardaí investigating the attack arrested a man in his 20s in the Dundalk area.
He is expected to be brought before a special sitting of Ardee District court this afternoon at 1pm.
The garda investigation is ongoing.
