Eight people have been given court dates after they were charged over unofficial motoring events in Co. Clare.
A woman and seven men - in their teens and 20s - were detained at a number of locations around the county yesterday morning, after gardaí searched two houses.
Gardaí say the arrests were made as part of an intelligence-led operation targeting drivers of modified cars.
It follows an event at the Corkscrew Hill in Ballyvaughan on March 7th, attended by 70 vehicles. The event got underway on the Promenade in Lahinch, before winding its way to the Cliffs of Moher, Doolin and on to Ballyvaughan.
All eight suspects were charged by gardaí in connection with the incident and released on bail.
They will appear before Ennis District Court on the 23rd of April.
