As of this morning, there were 129 patients being treated in Irish hospitals for confirmed cases of COVID-19 - including 40 in ICU.

Figures up to Saturday show 1.59 million COVID-19 vaccine doses had been administered - including 1.14 million first doses.

Officials are this week set to finalise a revised vaccine plan, taking into account recent advice from NIAC about the use of the AstraZeneca and Johnson & Johnson jabs.

Vaccine registration for those aged 59 will open tomorrow, as the rollout starts to expand to all over-50s.
