318 new cases of coronavirus have been confirmed in Ireland today.

One further COVID-19 related death has also been reported.

Since the pandemic began, there has now been 70,461 cases and 2,023 deaths in the country.

Of today's new cases, 126 were in Dublin, 45 in Cork, 28 in Limerick, 21 in Donegal, 18 in Kildare and the remaining 80 cases spread across 18 other counties.

As of this afternoon, there were 282 COVID-19 patients in Irish hospitals, including 31 in intensive care.

The national 14-day incidence rate has now fallen to 109 per 100,000 population.

With just over a week remaining until the start of December, a Government decision on exiting level five lockdown is expected to be made in the coming days.
