Six teenagers were rescued off the coast of Cork this morning.
The alarm was raised after a member of the public spotted the three boys and three girls on a homemade raft. They were found half a mile east of Crosshaven shortly after 6am.
The crew of the Crosshaven RNLI were on the scene within minutes and found five teenagers onboard.
Another was in the water trying to pull the raft ashore using a rope.
They were transported safely back to Crosshaven Harbour, where they were made comfortable in the lifeboat station.
Patsy Fagan spoke to Newstalk Lunchtime today about the incident and he asked that members of the public be vigilant for anything that they might see.
By the time the RNLI reached the six teenagers, they had become "miserable and nervous". Mr Fagan claimed they probably took to the water following a night out.
