A Co Clare man, who has been moved by the images of the dead Syrian toddler Aylan Kurdi, says he is willing to foster, or adopt one of the refugees.
And he is urging other like minded families to do the same.
Aiden O'Neill told The Right Hook the children could be taken in by families in Ireland - either on a permanent basis or until their own families get back on their feet.
The salesman from Ennis has set up a Facebook page called Aylan Kurdi Shelter to encourage others to offer accommodation.
Aiden said, "I would love - and I'm putting this out as an appeal, George - there's a meeting in two weeks time, in Brussels, an emergency meeting, and I would love to furnish Enda Kenny with a list of 600-odd families who would be willing to do the same... that would make me the happiest man in the world".
