Hillary Clinton's bid for the US Presidency officially kicks off today.

The former US Secretary of State announced in April that she was seeking the democratic nomination for the 2016 election.

She is holding a rally in Roosevelt Island in New York this afternoon, to set out further details of her manifesto.

Meanwhile, a group of Irish Democrats met in Dublin this morning to celebrate the start of the campaign.

Among those was Irish American lawyer and Hillary Clinton supporter Brian O'Dwyer.
