A report about children who suffer neglect and have come to the attention of the HSE has found victims often see little or no improvement in their circumstances.
The independent review into the practices in place to manage cases of child neglect was published yesterday by the HSE.
Audits, carried out in Roscommon, South East Dublin and Waterford on 96 cases showed 29 needed further assessment and intervention, and 17 cases were deemed to need immediate additional actions to provide adequate safeguarding.
