The British Prime Minister has made a fool of himself in his handling of the refugee crisis - according to an Irish MEP.
Fine Gael's Brian says larger EU member states need to take more people to alleviate the situation.
His comments come as the Minister for Foreign Affairs says we need to tackle the 'root causes' of the current 'surge in migration.'
Ireland is expected to take over 1,000 refugees, though Health Minister Leo Varadkar played down claims the number would be as high as 1,800.
According to Uplift Ireland, 12,000 Irish people have already volunteered to offer homes to those fleeing conflict in the Middle East and Africa.
