Brennans is recalling its family pan as a precautionary measures, saying it may contain small pieces of laminated paper.

The 800 gram sliced pan has a best before date of May 20th.

In a statement this evening, the company says there is no risk to consumers who may have already consumed the product, and any potentially affected packs have already been removed from supermarket shelves.

Advertisements alerting consumers to the product recall will be placed in the press, and all retailers have been informed.

Customers can return affected products to their local retailers for a refund.

They can also send on empty packaging, along with a name and address, to Brennans at: Joseph Brennan Bakeries, Greenhills Industrial Estate, Walkinstown, Dublin 12.

"The company apologises for any inconvenience caused by this recall but believes that it is the best course of action, however slight the risk might be," the statement adds.
