A member of the Irish amateur international boxing team is accused of threatening to put a bullet in a woman's head.
Aaron Kelly of Beaufort Downs, Rathfarnham in Dublin allegedly made the threat claiming he was owed money after doing a few "favours" for her son.
Mr Kelly is accused of punching a young man in the face in Terenure on July 14th and breaking two of his teeth.
He is further accused of holding a knife to his throat and holding him against his will in a car that was driven to various locations across Dublin.
He was granted bail on those charges previously, but was taken back into custody after allegedly breaching some of his conditions.
His lawyers appealed that decision to the High Court today but the alleged victim's mother begged the court not to grant him bail.
From the stand, she said Mr Kelly called to her house looking for her son claiming he was owed €3,000.
She claims he threatened to "cut her into pieces" and put a bullet in her head and her son's leg.
Her son also claims he threatened him and told him to drop the charges.
Mr Kelly strongly denies making the threats but his bail application was refused today.
