The Army bomb disposal team attended a suspect device in the Ranelagh area of south Dublin this afternoon.
It is understood a device was found just after four o’clock this afternoon.
Gardaí and defence forces attended the scene. The bomb disposal team left the area shortly after 5.30pm.
The object has been taken away for further examination.
Traffic was diverted during the incident but roads have now reopened.
