The body of a man, believed to be in his 50s, was found in the Macgillycuddy's Reeks on Saturday.
His body was removed to Tralee General Hospital, where a postmortem examination is due to be carried out.
Gardai are investigating, however, the cause and circumstances surrounding the death has not yet been confirmed.
According to the Kerry Mountain Rescue Facebook page, a number of call outs have been made in recent weeks as the mountain range has seen increased activity on paths and trails during the summer months from locals and holiday makers.
Speaking to the The Irish Mirror, Alan Wallace of the Kerry Mountain Rescue Team stated that there have been three serious falls in the area in recent weeks and urged caution.
