Clodagh Cogley, one of the survivors of the Berkeley balcony tragedy, has posted a tribute to those who lost their lives in the tragic balcony collapse three months ago today.
Posting on Facebook, 21-year-old Clodagh said: “Today marks three months since Nick, Eoghan, Olivia, Eimear, Lorcán and Ashley were taken from us.
"I don't have the words to describe the sadness of their passing, so all I will say is that I am thinking of their families and friends. They are deeply missed.”
Clodagh suffered serious injuries in the collapse, including a broken spinal cord, two collapsed lungs and a broken knee. She was one of seven injured in the tragedy.
She spent time recovering in California before returning to Ireland last month, where she is continuing her rehabilitation.
A Go Fund Me page to raise funds for Clodagh’s treatment and help her family pay for adaptations to their home to meet Clodagh’s needs and accommodate a wheelchair, has so far raised €116,000.
Last week Niall Murray, another of the survivors, spoke publicly for the first time, telling reporters in California – where he has been undergoing treatment until this week. He paid tribute to the six who lost their lives, saying.
"To our friends, we miss you. We will always miss you. We'll never forget you and some day I look forward to seeing you all again."
