In the North, a man (33) has been arrested following a paramilitary-style assault in north Belfast.

It happened at Forthriver Drive at around 10pm last night.

The victim (36) was set upon by around seven men, who forced their way into his home.

Some of them are understood to have been armed with baseball bats.

The victim sustained a number of suspected fractures - however his injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

A suspect was subsequently arrested in the Crumlin Road area at around 2am and remains in police custody.
