Men are being encouraged to get involved in a day which celebrates them, as today marks International Men's Day.
The day is celebrated in more than 60 countries around the world.
Here at home Pieta House is involved this year in a free, men-only event called With Men In Mind, taking place in Powerscourt Theatre in Dublin.
Speakers include Irish rugby international Jack McGrath and Dublin footballer Paul Flynn.
A giant image will be installed on the front façade of the Powerscourt Centre, created by artist Joe Caslin.
The objectives of the day include a focus on men's and boy's health, improving gender relations, promoting gender equality, and highlighting positive male role models.
It is also seen as an occasion for men to celebrate their achievements and contributions - in particular their contributions to community, family, marriage, and child care - while highlighting the discrimination against them.
The group says this year's day is significant date as it coincides the popular 'Movember' charity event, and also with Universal Children's Day on November 20th.
Warwick Marsh, of the Fatherhood Foundation in Australia, explains what it's all about.
