Some 63% of Irish mothers are breathing a sigh of relief, and secretly look forward to back-to-school time.
That is according to a new survey, which shows that a whopping 91% say they are looking forward to getting back into a routine.
The MummyPages.ie research also found that 34% like having some free time for themselves, 43% says it is "exhausting" trying to entertain children during the summer break and that 17% say school is less expensive than the cost of summer activities.
Other reasons given for a positive outlook on back-to school time include that it limits the amount of screen time for children, it gives more time to organise and clean the house and it makes it easier to manage work life, childcare and the household when children are at school.
It also found that one-in-five mothers report feeling judged by others for being a 'stay-at-home mum' or 'working mum' on the daily drop-off or pick-up at school.
According to Laura Haugh of MummyPages.ie: "It comes as no surprise that 63% at mums breathe a sigh of relief and secretly look forward to 'Back-to-School' time".
"As much as mums enjoy spending time with their children during the summer months when it comes to the end of August lots of mums are only too happy to drop their children at the school gate".
