A toddler has died in Co. Donegal - after he was knocked down by a van.
It's understood the 22 month old was injured when he was struck by the vehicle driving into the driveway of his house in Creeveglebe in Letterkenny at around a quarter to seven yesterday evening
He was rushed to Letterkenny General Hospital where he was pronounced dead a short time later.
A post mortem will be carried out on the child's body this morning. Gardaí say the incident is being treated as a tragic accident.
It's the second such tragedy to take place this month after two-year-old Thomas O Connor was killed in a tragic accident in the driveway of his home in Oranmore, Co Galway.
Meanwhile, in Co. Limerick, a 27 year old man has died - after he was hit by a truck as he was walking along the hard shoulder of the Ennis Road at around a quarter to seven this morning.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene. The stretch of road is currently closed while Gardaí carry out a technical examination . Diversions are in place.
There was also an incident in Mayo. Emergency services found a car off the road at Cartoon. The car was on fire when discovered. A body was discovered inside but the body has not yet been identified.
