The body of a man killed in a hit-and-run in Donegal over the weekend was found by his wife.

Alan McSherry (48) - who was originally from England - had been walking home from Bundoran to his home in Leitrim along a quiet country road.

Reports this morning reveal Mr McSHerry's wife Jo went out looking for him, and discovered his body in the road.

Gardaí are appealing for the driver to make contact with them.
