Storm Gertrude is still affecting parts of the North and North West with a yellow wind warning in place for Donegal, Galway, Leitrim, Mayo and Sligo.
Winds are expected to gust up to around 100 kilometres per hour.
Meanwhile, 2,000 properties around the country remain without power this evening.
Services were knocked out overnight and it is expected to be 9pm before supply is fully restored.
Crews have been working throughout today, a total of 10,000 premises were without power first thing this morning - with the North-West the worst affected.
Outages were said to be mainly concentrated in Donegal, Sligo and West Mayo.
Thousands of homes were left without power on Achill Island in Co Mayo and in Kilcoole, Co Wicklow earlier this morning.

High winds and heavy rain hit many parts of the country overnight, with gusts of up to 130 kilometres per hour.
The Road Safety authority has urged motorists to drive with extreme care, given the potential force of the winds.
Gardaí around the country reported some trees down, but as yet there are no reports of major damage.
