Gardaí are appealing for witnesses after a cash in transit robbery in Dublin.
The incident happened shortly after 12pm today, when a security guard was delivering cash to a bank in Rahney.
The security guard was approached by a man - believed to have been armed with a hammer - and forced to hand over a cash box.
The raider left the scene in a Renault Megane, which is said to have been driven by a second man.
Gardaí say the car rammed a patrol car on the Clontarf Road a short time after the robbery.
The car was later found abandoned on La Vista Avenue in Clontarf, where the cash box was recovered.
No arrests have yet been made in connection with the incident.
Gardaí are appealing for witnesses, in particular anyone who noticed anything suspicious in Raheny Village or La Vista Avenue between 11.30am and 12.30pm.
Anyone with any information is being asked to call Raheny Garda Station on 01–666-4300, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800-666-111, or any Garda station.
