Gardaí are appealing for witnesses after a pedestrian in his 50s was killed when he was struck by 2 vehicles in Dublin overnight.

The accident happened at about 12.15am at the junction of Parnell Square West and Parnell Street.

The man was rushed for treatment at the Mater Hospital.

However he did not survive and was later pronounced dead.

The drivers of the 2 cars were uninjured.

Appeal for safe driving

Anyone with any information is asked to contact Store Street Garda Station on 01-6668000.

Last week the Gardaí and Road Safety Authority (RSA) launched the annual road safety campaign for the Christmas period.

They are again reminding drivers to slow down and be mindful on our roads.
