Actor Antonio Banderas has starred in 92 films, but if he achieves his latest ambition, he may be known for something else entirely.

The Spaniard, who twice played swashbuckler Zorro in feature films, is now attempting to bring the cape back into fashion.

Banderas has recently been studying at the prestigious Central Saint Martins in London, a fashion school that counts Alexander McQueen and John Galliano among its alumni.

He explained his reasons for taking the course in an interview with the school's publication 1Granary.

"I'm here to gain knowledge, basically.

"I got to a point where I've done 92 movies—I am not going to stop—I'm going to continue doing movies and producing, and I want to direct more—but there were other things in my life that I was interested in."

Banderas said his longstanding relationship with the fragrance house Puig led him to an interest in fashion. A full Antonio Banderas collection isn't going to be on the racks at your local menswear emporium anytime soon, but the actor says there's one piece he knows he wants to resurrect.

He said his involvement with perfume manufactures Puig led hm towards and interest in fashion, and identified one item of clothing that intrigues him the most.

"There is one garment that I love that was lost in menswear a long time ago, and I would like to experiment with it: the cape.

"For me, it's actually easier than a coat, you walk into a place and you just BOOM! throw it off."
