A cabin crew member has been jailed for 6 months after he admitted making a bomb hoax mid-way through a flight.

22-year-old Mathew Davis from West Sussex was working on the flight from London to Tokyo.

He scrawled the message onto the back of a toilet door in February.

Davis told police he wrote the note thinking if he handled the situation well he would be able to mention it in his performance review.

The message was reporedly found by a colleague while the aircraft was flying over the Middle East.

British police arrested the 22-year-old at Heathrow Airport.
