Aer Lingus passengers can now check in luggage the day before their flight.
With the summer holiday season now upon us, the airline has advised people to bear in mind that Dublin Airport can be “exceptionally busy”.
On Moncrieff, DAA spokesperson Graeme McQueen said he believed many passengers will welcome the development.
“What they’re trying to do is make it easier for the passengers and give them options,” he explained.
“These offers are available to passengers who are going on a long haul flight or probably their one big family trip a year with lots of suitcases.
“So, they’ve brought it in so that you can check in your luggage the night before.
“I think it’s to alleviate queues in the morning; I think this works for flights before 8AM.
“I know some of the travellers with young kids, I know this myself, you don’t want to be queuing.”
Mr McQueen continued that it is all about “making it as easy as possible”, adding that his friends who live local to the airport “love” having the option.
