Regular Luas commuters have likely seen plenty of odd or memorable scenes on board the Dublin trams - but a horse on board is definitely one of the more unique.

The animal was brought on board the Luas at the Belgard stop.

The horse and its owner were asked to leave by the driver once the irregular passenger was spotted.

Passenger Una McCrystal told the Journal.ie that the horse did not appear to be in any distress.

Thankfully, smartphone photographers ensured the moment was captured for posterity:
