Nine men have been arrested at 2 seperate locations in Dublin, for questioning about dissident republican activity in the capital.
In the first operation, 8 men were detained as part of an ongoing investigation, during the search of a house in Tallaght yesterday evening by officers from the Special Detective Union and the Crime & Security section.
They're being questioned on suspicion of being members of an unlawful organisation.
The 8 range in age from their mid 20s to 40s, and are being held at various garda stations in the west of the city under the provisions of Section 30 Offences against the State Act 1939.
Elsewhere, a man in his 40s has been arrested after a quantity of ammunition and component parts of explosive substances were discovered.
Also as part of an ongoing investigation into dissident republican activity in Dublin, gardaí from the Special Detective Unit and Crime & Security Section searched a number of containers in a yard at Cloghran yesterday afternoon.
The 46-year-old man is being held at Ballymun Garda Station under the provisions of Section 30 Offences against the State Act 1939.
Investigations in both cases are continuing.
