Investigations are continuing after a 60-year-old pedestrian died following a collision in Co Kildare yesterday.

It happened at Moyvalley at around 5.45pm.

The pedestrian - a 60-year-old man - was pronounced dead at the scene and his body was taken to the Mortuary in Naas, where a post mortem examination will take place this morning.

The driver of the car - a 29-year-old woman - was uninjured.

Gardaí are currently carrying out a forensic examination and motorists are advised to take an alternative route.

Anyone who witnessed the collision is asked to Leixlip Garda Station.
