50 new jobs have been announced in Cork.
The positions will come on stream at IT global services company, Westbourne IT Global Services which operates from two facilities in the county.
The company is now recruiting to fill multilingual, technical positions which will see its workforce increase to almost 100 employees within the next 18 months.
Welcoming the announcement, Taoiseach Enda Kenny said “The Government is determined that 2014 will be the year of jobs and this announcement by Westbourne IT Global Services is a positive start for Cork and the local economy.”
Minister for Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation Richard Bruton TD said he expected similar announcements in coming months.
Founded in 1994, Westbourne IT Global Services provides secure, remote, IT support to Global users. The company works with multi-national and indigenous clients across the life sciences, pharmaceutical and related sectors.
Speaking at the expansion announcement, CEO John O’Sullivan said: “When I set up this company 20 years ago, I had a team of three people. We are now one of Ireland’s leading providers of 24/7, multi-lingual IT support, operating in seven languages to over 25 indigenous and global organisations... We have ambitious plans for continued growth over the next five years and plan to expand our workforce to 350 employees by 2019.”
