The rapper known as 50 Cent is set to appear in court to explain posting pictures of himself surrounded by cash on social media.
This is despite him being declared as broke.
The US singer, whose real name is Curtis J Jackson III, filed for bankruptcy in July.
Judge Ann Nevins has said she is concerned about "allegations of nondisclosure and a lack of transparency" in the case.
Since October, 50 Cent has posted several photographs on Instagram of him with cash.
In one, he is in bed surrounded by piles of money - and in another, the bills are stacked to form the word 'BROKE'.
He adds the caption: "Man this lunch money,I gotta go to work I'm still up, no Sleep at all. NEW MUSIC this week,Off The KANAN tape".
The notes all appear to be US$100 bills.
