Around 12 staff members at the former suicide charity Console have been made redundant this afternoon.
Yesterday, a provisional liquidator was appointed to the troubled charity.
Three of Console's services, including its 24/7 helpline, have been taken over by Pieta House.
Staff are now in talks regarding future employment.
Former interim CEO of Console, David Hall, says he hopes it is not the end of the road for these staff members.
"They [have been] a valuable asset to Console - they've kept the ship afloat for the last three weeks," he said.
"This transfer and this continuation of services would not have been able to take place without those staff staying, looking after people for the last three weeks and not getting paid for that."
Meanwhile, the head of the HSE has insisted the executive is not to blame for spending at Console.
Tony O'Brien has been quizzed by a Dáil committee after a HSE audit raised concerns about alleged financial impropriety by Console’s founder, Paul Kelly, and two family members.
