Stocks of South Korean condom maker Unidus Corp soared after a court abolished a 62-year-old law that banned adultery.

Unidus Corp’s share price increased by 15 percent after seven judges out of nine judges on a special panel ruled that the ban on extramarital affairs was unconstitutional.

Nearly 53,000 South Koreans have been indicted on adultery charges since 1985, with 862 people indicted last year alone.
Under this law, having sex with a married person who is not your spouse was punishable by up to two years in prison.

This ruling could affect potentially thousands people who face a trial or have already been found guilty of breaking the law since late 2008.
