The German spy agency suffered a little embarrassing hiccup. Their brand new headquarters was flooded after several taps were stolen on its upper floors, police said on Thursday.

Oops!

The soon to be opened building cost the German tax payers 1.3-billion-euro and will now have to repair water damage that could run into millions according to the Berliner Zeitung newspaper.

"Several water taps were stolen and that caused extensive damage," a Berlin police spokesman said about the Bundesnachrichtendienst (BND) building in the heart of Berlin .

He said police had not ruled out a political motive or a criminal motive, such as revenge for unpaid bills.

"We're investigating in all possible directions," he said.
