As part of Newstalk's Election Coverage, the Moncrieff Show has been testing some of the candidates in a series of quick-fire questions that they will likely not be asked anywhere else.

On today's show it was the turn of Paul Murphy, Anti-Austerity Alliance TD and candidate in Dublin South-West.

What do you think about when you're alone in your car? Normally I listen to the radio - music, mostly

Your favourite pizza toppings I like a fancy vegetarian one - rocket, sundried tomatoes and maybe some nice mushrooms

The last time you lied I really can't remember - it's a lie now that I remember one

How did you do in the Leaving Cert? I think I got 580 points

Who would play you in a movie? Well didn't the Labour Party ad have me as Harry from One Direction - so maybe we can get him into acting and he can do it

Do you play an instrument? I used to play piano and flute

What do you miss when on the road? I've a stove now at home that I really like lighting a fire in

Do you have a nickname? I don't now - when I was kid 'Spud'

Your go-to fancy dress costume Something useless like covering yourself in tin-foil and saying your a spaceman

Have you ever a saved a life? Maybe - when I was on holidays years and years ago when I was a kid I was on the beach swimming, and there was a young kid who walked into the sea and was under water - and I picked him or her up

What is your signature move on a date? I could cook a nice dinner

What did you want to be when you grew up? At a certain stage I wanted to be a lawyer, I read too many John Grisham books

What posters did you have on your wall as a teenager? Che Guevara

What's in your pocket right now? Keys, lipbalm, cards, tissues, phone

What one law would you abolish? I'd repeal the 8th amendment and allow access to abortion

What one law would you introduce? I would introduce a wealth tax, a millionaire's tax

Ever flirt with joining another political party? No

Favourite American president Maybe Lincoln

The most unusual request you've received from a constituent You get people who implicitly want you to cut down trees for them

Do you have a birthmark? Yeah, on my head

When was the last time you cried? A few months ago - personal stuff

A politician from another party you admire Thomas Pringle because he's a bit of an unsung hero

Have you ever been offered a bribe? No

Ever get drunk in the Dáil bar? No - I've passed through the Dáil bar once with Richard Boyd-Barrett buying cigarettes

Your teenage crush Do you remember that programme 'Casualty'? There was a blond actress in 'Casualty' who I used to like

Do you give blood? No, I would like to

Your hidden talent Languages - I can speak German well

Have you ever broken the law? Yes...the time I'm proudest of breaking the law, and I don't know if it is breaking the law, was when I was on a flotilla to Gaza to break the blockade and we spent a week in an Israeli prison

What do you hate about canvassing? The weather - the rain, the cold, the wind

If you could press the ejector seat on one TD, who would it be? Noel Coonan - who is a backbench Fine Gael TD - who maybe spoke twice in the Dáil prior to describing the water charges movement as 'an ISIS situation that had to be nipped in the bud'

Your biggest regret I wish I went I went to America on a year abroad when I was in college
