Like many comics and other creative minds, Judah did not enjoy formal education and he was never formally trained as an actor.

“I was miserable in school, I hated it and it felt like torture. I don’t like the oppression of authority – the teachers were dumb.” He told Sean Moncrieff.

In addition to the Whelan’s show tonight, funny man and actor Judah is in Ireland to appear at the Vodafone Comedy Carnival in Galway.

His show tomorrow at the Spiegeltent is sold out but there are still tickets available for his Friday show (17th) at Roisin Dubh via VodafoneComedyCarnival.com.

When asked about his other career aspirations, he described how he may have missed his calling in becoming a pro wrestler, even though he admitted the drama isn’t real.

“You know when you go see a movie or TV show, that stuff isn’t real either” he pointed out.

Friedlander has toured the world doing his exceptionally popular stand up, he admitted that the more he travels, the more he feels that America is insular.

"What is interesting about America is that you learn a lot about your own country when you travel – America is so narcissistic, it is to do with a poor education and a media that doesn’t give good news. We are geographically far away.”

Judah is not an actor who does stand-up on the side. He’s a stand-up comedian who acts on the side.

He wasn’t trained as an actor but before he hit the big time he featured in multiple commercials for anything from Snickers to Budlight.

It was from these humble origins that he went onto smaller TV roles and this led to the huge hit 30 Rock.
