Facebook Live is an excellent addition to the social network. Publishers can stream events to their Facebook fans and friends. It has been utilised by many pages for a wide spectrum of reasons. 

On Friday more than 800,000 people tuned into a Facebook Live stream to watch two BuzzFeed employees place rubber bands on a watermelon until it exploded. 

The tension filled experiment lasted 45 minutes and went viral across social media.
