It's been a long time coming, 5 years to be exact, since the last Fallout game and even that wasn't a real, full, installation to the series. Kind of like what Brotherhood and Revelations were to Assassin's Creed 2 and 3.

So we have to go back further then. Til 2008. When a blockbuster of a game was unleashed on us. Seven years after Fallout 3 was released we finally have a fully-fledged follow-up and it looks fantastic.

That's right after Bethesda launched a 24-hour countdown that just read 'Please Stand By' they announced Fallout 4 and a fancy new trailer to boot.

The trailer shows another new vast wasteland as well as a beautiful 2050s looking environment from before the blast. Add to that the fan favourite quote of 'War, war never changes' and you've got a short that will excite pretty much every Fallout fan on the planet.

Bethesda are due to have their own keynote at this year's E3 conference in Los Angeles. So you can expect plenty more detail between June 16th and 18th.
