Phone network Three has confirmed some customers are experiencing network issues this evening, after many reported being unable to make calls, send text messages or connect to the internet.
Hundreds of tweets have been sent to the Three Ireland Online Twitter account asking about the network issues, with many users saying their 3G service has also not been accessible since around 3 o'clock this afternoon.
Three has confirmed that network issues are currently affecting some customers:
Some customers may be experiencing issues with their service. We’re working on getting this fixed ASAP. Sorry for any inconvenience caused.

This evening a spokesperson for Three said, “some customers are currently experiencing intermittent 2G and 3G service issues. This has occurred due to an electrical failure at one of our data centres which caused an increase in temperature in the building and then subsequently impacted some systems affecting customer service.
"Our dedicated Networks team is continuing to work hard to resolve this as soon as possible and we apologise for any inconvenience caused," the spokesperson added.
Tesco Mobile Ireland has also said customers are experiencing issues this evening:
We're aware our customers are experiencing intermittent issues with the network, we are working to have this resolved as soon as possible.^A
