The Tánaiste Joan Burton says she does not want to "move back to ten year Tribunals" over issues like the sale of Siteserv.

Ms Burton says she is "very happy" at the appointment of a retired judge to oversee the review of all transactions carried out by IBRC, which cost the taxpayer more than €10m.

The sale of Siteserv to Denis O'Brien's Millington, at a cost to the State of over €100m - is the most contentious sale to be included in the review.

Justice Iarfhlaith O'Neill will oversee the review of transactions being carried out by the IBRC liquidators.

Ms Burton says the investigation ordered by Finance Minister Michael Noonan is the appropriate way forward.
