Frenzied shoppers will hit the streets again today as Christmas Day looms closer for the unprepared.

Business owners say they expect the busiest shopping days to be today and tomorrow.

Retailers say that Christmas shopping is picking up today.

Concerns after budget

There had been concerns about the slow pace of trade coupled with concerns that people would be put-off spending after budget announcements earlier this month.

But on one of the busiest days of the year top department stores say traffic is brisk.

Don Nugent is the Director at the Dundrum Town Centre and he says footfall has been holding up well there.

While Chief Executive of Brown Thomas Stephen Sealy says queues were forming outside the store this morning.
