Ryanair has axed its winter Paris-Shannon service.

The low-fares airline operated the twice-weekly service last winter but has confirmed it does not intend to renew it.

The move comes as Ryanair cuts the frequency of other routes from Shannon airport over the summer.

Flights on the Shannon-Manchester route are down from seven per week to five, while flights between Shannon and Munich are cut from three per week to two.

Meanwhile, services to Nice and Poitiers were not renewed earlier this year.

Ryanair has cited "aircraft capacity constraints" for the cuts.

The company significantly increased its Shannon presence in April 2014, following a government decision to abolish passenger tax.
