62 jobs have been announced for Limerick by Worldwide TechServices. The firm - whose customers include Dell, HP, Sony, Canon and Apple - is to establish its European Headquarters the city.

The company said Limerick was chosen because of its established technology cluster and connectivity to the Boston area and what it called "reach capacity" into mainland Europe.

The Jobs Minister Richard Bruton said ICT is a key target sector for the government and that over 5,000 additional jobs have been created in this sector since this government took office.

"Excellent win for Limerick"

"This is great news for Limerick and the Mid-West, and I am determined to build on this to attract more investments to Ireland and create the jobs we need" the Minister said.

IDA Ireland CEO Barry O'Leary said "WWTS is an excellent addition to Limerick’s technology cluster. WWTS has a growing customer base and many high profile customers operating in global markets".

"This is an excellent win for Limerick and the mid-west region and I would like to offer the on-going support of IDA Ireland as WWTS develops its Irish operation" he added.
