Some 110 news jobs are being created with the opening of two new Topaz garages in Dublin and Laois.

The Dublin station, at Northern Cross in Clonshaugh, opened today with the creation of 45 new jobs.

A Supermacs fast food restaurant is also opening at the site, creating 20 jobs.

On Monday, a second Topaz station will open on the M8 Dublin to Cork road at Ballacolla, Co Laois creating 65 new jobs.

The Clonshaugh opening brings an investment of €4.5 million by Topaz to the site - which will service the residents of Clonshaugh, Balgriffin, Donaghmede and surrounding regions.

A further investment of €5.5m will come on stream with the planned opening of the new motorway site in Ballacolla.

Both sites will provide services to around 50,000 motorists using the two motorways each day.

Paul Candon, group marketing director at Topaz, said: "We are delighted to announce the addition of a further 110 jobs at our new service stations in Clonshaugh and in Laois."

These job announcements follow on from 200 new jobs announced in Monaghan at Combilift, a forklift and heavy load carrier, over the next five years.
