NAMA is understood to be in discussions with just two consortia about Project Jewel, the portfolio of assets which includes Dundrum Shopping Centre and 50% stakes in the Irish Life Centre in Dublin City Centre and the Pavilion Centre in Swords.
A consortium including Allianz Real Estate and the quoted UK property firm, Hamerson is thought to have submitted the highest bid, but contacts are understood to be continuing with another grouping, including the US real estate group, Hines – which is developing the giant Cherrywood residential site in South Dublin – and the Kuwaiti Investment Authority.
The successful bidder is likely to emerge early this week and the price tag is expected to be in the €1.6nb to €1.7bn range, a decision could come as early as later today.
Meanwhile, it’s been reported that the Castlemartyr hotel and golf resort in County Cork, which had a price tag of about €13m, has been sold by NAMA to a consortium of Asian investors, which owns a similar hotel and leisure complex, the Old Thorns near Guildford in Surrey.
