Monex Financial Services, the Kerry-based currency software company, has reported profits of €7.6m for 2014, a 130 per cent increase on the previous year.

The company claims to be the largest provider of so-called dynamic currency conversion in the world. This software allows customers pay in the currency of their credit and debit cards for goods purchased in any global currency.

Monex, whose clients include Ryanair, Hertz and a number of overseas banks, processed a total of 163m conversion transactions last year, including some high profile casinos in Las Vegas.
