Storyful founder Mark Little has said that former News of the World editor, Rebekah Brooks will not take control of Storyful.

After being cleared of phone-hacking offences, Financial Times and New York Times both reported that Ms Brooks was going to take a senior position with the Dublin-based digital news agency, citing sources who were familiar with the negotiations.

Speaking at the IAB conference in Dublin today, Mr Little said that there are currently no plans for her to join the company:

"We’ve had conversations with Rebekah Brooks about the wider digital landscape - but she’s not taking over control of Storyful."

Irish Independent reports that the founder said, "We have the same CEO that I handed over to, the same control structures so nothing has changed."

"I don’t know what Rebekah Brooks will do, but that’s as much as we know," he added.

Storyful is a 'social news agency' that validates the authenticity of user-shot video content, and sources viral videos.

Mark Little sold the company to News Corp for €18m in 2013. In December of last year he stepped down as CEO and started a new role as director of editorial innovation.
