Policing a child's activity online can be a difficult task for parents, but a new search engine, nicknamed "Google for kids" seeks to make it a bit easier.
Visiting Kiddle.co brings up a colourful web-page with a search bar. Children can enter terms and will receive what the company says are "search results which satisfy family-friendly requirements". This means no explicit content will appear in the results.
While Kiddle is not a Google product, it uses the search engine's "safe search mode" and has human editors working to weed out inappropriate content.
The results appear in a very child-friendly way, with large images and a very clean font.
The company said it will not collect any personally identifiable data, and logs are deleted every 24 hours.
